The Intercession of the Spirit

Posted on 16 May 2016, Pastor: Shane Fuller

This week we celebrate Pentecost and reflect on the great gift of the Holy Spirit. All Christian prayer and worship are gifts of the Spirit. We are much more inclined to see prayer and worship as a duty that is demanded of us rather than as a gracious gift that is offered to us. It is regarded as something we have to do for God rather than something that God does in us. We will examine two different approaches – Prayer as Duty and Prayer as Gift. What if God is on our side of the relationship, shaping and inspiring our response to the Father and the Son, revealing to us what and how to pray, and enabling us to participate in the intercession of Christ?
