Hymn for the Feast of Pentecost
O Heavenly King, the Holy Spirit,
Sea of sanctification
Who has resorted us to paradise
And given us the kingdom of heaven,
our return to the adoption of sons.
Made us bold to call God our Father,
Lord, giver of life, who deified us mortals,
Giving us immortality and making us partakers
Of eternal glory.
Treasure of all goodness in this world
and in the world to come,
Uniting us even to the angels
by the same sanctification.
Establishing the thrones,
dominions, principalities, and powers
to continuance with us in the eternal praise
of our Triune God.
You assemble all the glorious and unspeakable harmony of the highest heavens
In the mutual concord of the celestial powers,
To preserve them.
O Life of the church,
anointing apostles,
prophets, teachers,
giving gifts, miracles
of healing, and diversities of tongues.
Glory be to you with Jesus
who poured You on us,
And with the Father,
from whom You proceed,
to give us his eternal love.
